Colleagues who attended the IB Theatre Training in Vancouver, February '09

I arrived back to Minneapolis at midnight from Vancouver; simply exhausted, yet wired and I decided to get our blog up and running so that we could reflect on our training/experiences this last weekend. I hope that you will take time to contribute to this site. I believe we could truly support one another as we build our theatre programs for our terrific students.
Best, James

Hey Everyone!

I have to agree with James.....totally exhausted, but inspired at the same time. Because I'm opening Our Town next week, I'm opting to meet with my IB coordinator in a few weeks, but my principal assured me yesterday that I would have the time/ability to visit some IB theatre programs in the area over the next few months which is great news!

Thanks to everyone....it was so great to meet so many wonderful people!

Kelley,

I'm jealous that you get to visit more IB sites! I need to have my application "B" completed next week. Yikes! I hope you all will be generous and send me any materials that you have that can assist me with this process.

Carpe Diem

Hi all. Crazy busy here too. Writing the IB course outline next week. Got release time for it! Yikes. In other news, my student just won a Shakespeare compeition and we're off to NYC in April. The newspaper article is here:

and the NPR radio interview is here:

Ok, enough about me....I have a question. I'm so confused about dates for the assessments. Does anyone have a clear outline? I'd really appreciate it.

Almost spring break....

Best,
Chrsitine

Hi,
I am thinking about becoming a IB recognized Theatre Arts Teacher. I am currently a Drama Teacher on Vancouver Island. What are the steps? How long does it take? Is it expensive? Can I train here in BC or online?
Any tips or advice would be helpful!

Hello all

Well, Shaker Heights High School is an official IB World School and I'm teaching IBTheatre next year. I really would love to get my hands on a sample syllabus. I need to figure out how to sequence everything. If you've got one, please share, email to me at mcburney_c@shaker.org.

Thanks!

Hey Everyone!

Hope all is well! Just finishing my first year and my students are rough drafting their RI assessment for next school year!

Christine...sorry I'm late on it, but I'll send you my syllabus!
